Alliances may build up camps and attack or assist other Alliances.

Camps and Alliance vs. Alliance actions grant victory points.

Victory points are used to determine the winner of a phase, with rewards given out to all participating victorious Alliance members.

There may also be prizes based on other accomplishments besides just most victory points.

Phases reset after a period of time, which also resets camps and victory points.

So what is Alliance Versus Alliance all about?
It’s a way for Alliances to compete in a new way against other Alliances, explore Westeros, and even gain special rewards. It is a new way for our players to compete against each other, and adds a new facet in Alliance interactions.

What actions can my Alliance and I take in Alliance Versus Alliance?
Alliances can build up their camps to increase their abilities, launch hostile or beneficial actions against other Alliances with Sworn Swords, and have Sworn Swords garrison your camp to defend it. When taking actions through Alliance vs. Alliance combat, you may not speed up your Sworn Swords.

The ability to set diplomatic stances and build camps is set by the Alliance leader in the Alliance Settings menu. These are permissions that the Alliance leader may set or change as they choose, and they may be granted to Officers, Members, or no one.

What is involved in building a camp?
Building up a camp involves contributing silver and items. Higher level camps have better stats to help with attacks and defenses in that subregion. In addition, each camp has a specific action specialty, such as Harass or Spy. Those action specialties are permanent, and cannot be changed once the camp is constructed.

Camps are upgraded from item and silver contributions. It takes a certain amount of silver and certain items to take a camp from one level to the next. The required items change from crafted items, to attack spoils, to rare and hard-to-find items at the highest levels. The items required for each level change depending on what type of camp you are constructing. The amount of silver required increases for each level, and increases for each camp your Alliance has constructed. You may contribute as much (or as little) silver as you like. The default contribution amount is 10% of the amount required to get to the next level of camp. The highest level your camp can reach is level 20.

What do camps do?
Each camp has stats, which change based on the camp’s level and any complementary camps you have in the region. Those stats include a bonus to attacks and defenses, the chance of receiving rare rewards and spoils, the victory point value of the camp, and the maximum number of Sworn Swords garrisoned in the camp. You may also view the garrison of a camp, the activity the camp was involved in (including attacks and defenses), and who contributed what to the camp.

You’ll notice that there is different art depending on which region you build your camp in. Much like your holdings and your own buildings, your camps will change appearance as you build them up. Make sure to see what each camp looks like in each region!

How many camps can an Alliance have?
An Alliance can have one camp in each available subregion of Westeros, and there are three defined subregions in each region. For example, the subregions of the North are The Neck, White Knife, and Torrhen’s Square, while the subregions of the Westerlands are Golden Tooth, the River Road, and the Gold Road. That means that there are over a dozen camps an Alliance can build and upgrade.

What is involved in taking action against another Alliance?
When you take action against another Alliance, you send a Sworn Sword to perform the action you want to take, including both helpful and harmful choices. With these actions you can gain information, slow or speed the progress of your camp or your opponent’s camp, and damage the opponent’s camp. Damage reduces the camp’s effectiveness until it is repaired.

Please note that some actions carry a chance of your camp being damaged as well! While some actions have no consequences for failure, some others do and your alliance’s camp could be damaged due to a reckless or just plain unlucky attack.

How do I find other Alliance camps?
The presence of another Alliance's camp is unknown until you do an attack in that subregion. A regular attack will tell your Alliance whether a camp exists or not, while a Spy action will tell your Alliance the details of the camp. You will need to call upon your Alliance members to find your enemies, either by force or subtle intrigue. And remember that Spying on your enemies can grant insight into their preparations! But beware, information can become stale quickly. You’ll need to keep a constant eye on your enemies if you want to know how they are faring in Alliance vs. Alliance combat.

What’s involved garrisoning a camp?
You assign a Sworn Sword to act as a defender -- which protects your camp and can provide you with useful items. Members of the Alliance may garrison Sworn Swords in all of the Alliance’s camps. Each Alliance member may only only contribute one Sworn Sword towards garrisoning any given camp. Each camp has a maximum number of Sworn Swords that may be garrisoning it, which is based on the camp’s level.  An Alliance member may contribute a Sworn Sword to garrison each of the camps.  Sworn Swords may receive wounds and be fatally wounded when garrisoning a camp.

Most of the time, the Sworn Sword that is best suited for defense will defend the camp. For example, if someone is bartering with your camp, the garrisoned Sworn Sword with the highest Trade stat and highest Barter bonuses will be used. There is a small chance, however, that any garrisoned Sworn Sword will be used for defense. Watch your Sworn Swords carefully!

How often are winners declared?
Alliance vs. Alliance competitions are broken into phases of the moon. The first phase will last about one month. At the end of that time, the Alliance with the most victory points is declared the winner, and rewards are given out to the top five Alliances and any other reward tiers that are present -- earning accolades such as Iron Bank or Relentless. A full list of reward tiers is below. After each phase, victory points restart, camps are reset, and the competition begins anew.

Does my Alliance have a shot at the top slot?
Yes!  Winners are determined every phase, and we wipe all AvA progress -- camps and victory points -- at the end of each phase, so every Alliance starts from the same place. If you don’t win this phase, there’s always another!

Are victory points the same as Alliance Power?
They are not. Alliance Power -- gained from completing Alliance Challenges -- is unaffected by victory points, and vice versa.

How does an Alliance gain victory points?
Victory points are gained through Alliance vs. Alliance actions, such as fighting, harassing, bartering, or aiding other Alliance’s camps. Some actions provide more victory points than others - for example, fighting a camp provides more victory points than aiding a camp. Victory points also come from the total level of your camps, each of which provides victory points based on its level. Camp damage reduces the amount of victory points contributed by the camp.

My Alliance is friends with another Alliance. Can we help each other out?
You sure can! Not only can you send helpful actions towards that Alliance’s camps and send members beneficial actions via PtP, you can enter into friendly diplomatic ties with them. Be warned that you only have a limited number of friendly diplomatic ties you can form. Friendly diplomatic ties increase the benefit to each other’s camps. For example, if you are neutral, then your barter actions help the Alliance the normal amount. If you are friendly, then your barter action would contribute extra resources or silver to your friend!

My Alliance hates another Alliance. Can we do something to harm them specifically?
You sure can! Not only can you send harmful actions towards that Alliance’s camps and send its members harmful actions via PtP, you can enter into hostile diplomatic ties with them. Being enemies with another Alliance increases the amount of harm you do to that Alliance.

What do these diplomatic ties do?
Apart from formalizing your arrangements and providing direct bonuses to those Alliances, you will have an increased effect for harmful actions against an Alliance hated by one of your friendly Alliances. So the enemy of your friend is a ripe target in Alliance Versus Alliance combat. Pick both your friends and enemies wisely!

Basic summary of AVA ; learn to use ptp bookmarks to hyperlink targets or modify an already existing extension such as omniwsword so you can mass ava attack spam, if you get caught you will recieve a 24h ban at most and have some points docked from your alliance, but hey since ava came out the same cheater alliances are still taking the top spots with almost no repercussions from Disruptor Beam, so the basic point is cheat lots and get the top prizes, as long as you buy lotsa gold from DB all is fine....
